It was my pleasure to present my commissioned portrait of Her Majesty Queen Margrethe II of Denmark to her Majesty at Gråsten Palace. It was a private meeting with the Queen (therefore no photographs of the event) We had lovely conversation after Her Majesty had unwrapped the portrait.

Your bathroom set looks fantastic. How long did it take you to paint this set?

Difficult to say, I can’t remember – the actual throwing of them and the glazing took longer than painting the silhouettes and background decor – I am glad you liked it!

Your work is fabulous. I take ceramics classes sometimes and my instructor does all the firing so the hard part for me is judging how much time to spend painting. Thank you for responding and have a great weekend. x

Oh that’s great, lucky you 🙂 I usually do a few sketches before I paint my ceramics – just to give me an idea of color, form and balance – it also saves time and gives less room for fatal mistakes too!
