It was my pleasure to present my commissioned portrait of Her Majesty Queen Margrethe II of Denmark to her Majesty at Gråsten Palace. It was a private meeting with the Queen (therefore no photographs of the event) We had lovely conversation after Her Majesty had unwrapped the portrait.

Love it! But, I have to ask about the color of the drape…is there significance to the color blue….thinking back to where a red drape was used to infer something or other….perhaps a newly revealed romance? Always looking slowly.

Thank you. I decided upon a blue drape as the colour was a better balance for the painting than a red one would have been. A red drape would have been too dominating here. I only used red for a few of the details,: the fan, the sce of hearts card, the wine, the fruit. Glad yo enjoyed this piece.
