
Katherine Scrivens of English and Anglo-Indian heritage was born in 1964 Bristol, England to David William Scrivens and Pamela Angelina Todd.
Inspired by the Danish lifestyle and nature Katherine moved to Denmark in 1984. Katherine works and resides on the island, Als in Denmark where she has her own Gallery.

katherine, the silhouette artist

Katherine’s elegant Silhouettes are inspired by early cave paintings and Scandinavian minimalism. In 2022 an exhibition of her minimalistic Silhouettes was held at the prestigious Illums Bolighus – in Copenhagen.
Her Silhouettes are often featured as book covers for Saqi Books – a leading independent publisher of trade and academic books on the Middle East and North Africa
Katherine is married to popular Danish Artist & Entertainer, Thomas Eje.

Katherine, the PORTRAIT artist

Aside from her Silhouette paintings Katherine enjoys the discipline of portrait painting. She debuted with a series of 20 portraits of famous Danes at Gallery Eje in 2009-2011. The exhibition was a success and launched her career as a serious portrait painter.

The Pregnancy Portrait
Katherine’s portrait of the HRH Crown Princess Mary of Denmark pregnant with her first child.

Love your artwork! I especially like ‘Silhouettes in the city’. Living in rural Kansas, my typical view is quite different from the painting.
