I got up early this morning eager to continue my work from yesterday on my lady and man painting. After many weeks, I’m done!
Working on this beauty today…
Today I completed this art deco painting which will be a headboard over a bed in our home. I am a huge admirer of artist Tamara de Lempicka. Those familiar with her work will see a resemblance to one of her paintings in this piece. I will give it a high gloss varnish tomorrow and will hopefully have the time to paint a Versace inspired frame for it too.
This classical style is very new to me. Challenging and exciting. I love the discipline of working in this way. Painted a little more on this lady today…
I so enjoyed working on this piece. Was quite sad to finish it to tell you the truth!
This is probably the last painting of the year. Another year gone all too quickly. A year with the usual mixed bag of heartache and joy. This painting celebrates those quiet moments and simple pleasures.
Happy New Year and Peace on Earth!
Here’s a portrait of a richly decorated woman I painted a few years ago. I love working with these bright and deep colours.
This cubism painting was inspired by a naturalistic portrait I painted last summer of my daughter (included at the bottom of this post for reference)
