“I need the seasons to live to the rhythm of rain and sun” – Sophie Marceau
Returning to my first love; I painted this little atmospheric sketch in acrylics today. A cold wet moody day in the sunshine. Swirling brush strokes lend movement to the family in this painting. Perhaps I’ll work more on it for a bigger painting…
Listening to the music of Adele and the rain: This little watercolour was a joy to paint this dark wintry afternoon ❤ More paintings
Every time I get my watercolours out I remember just how much I love painting with them! This little piece on paper was intended as a sketch for a larger oil painting. But I think it is a little finished piece in its own right, so I’ll be framing it ready for the gallery in the coming days.
Have a lovely weekend everyone. Until next time, Katherine x
I love working with as few colours as possible to create such unassuming drama as this reflective girl under the pink rainy sky. #spiritualmoment
The Rain Prayer story told by Greg Braden:
I had the idea for this painting some time ago. It was only when I created a warm pink backdrop that I felt it worked. The yellow lamp light adds a nice point of interest.
It’s raining here…
