This painting is part of a trilogy I painted for a restaurant. I only used 2 main colours: a very dark olive green and raw umber – this creates simplicity enabling the viewer to capture the mood rather than the details of the painting. As a little point of interest: the spike of the umbrella is postbox red. Happy Sunday everyone, I hope it’s not raining where you are, but then again, rain can be beautiful too! Until next time, Katherine ❤
Romance in the Orange City
Sometimes when I get an idea my paintbrush won’t move fast enough across the paper! Here’s a quick painted sketch I did using orange and black watercolour. I love the dramatic effect of the striking black against the bright orange.
Journey back in time with me …
The essence of who you are is what we celebrate.
Until next time, Katherine
One for the window
The days are getting darker in Denmark. This will be lighting up the gallery window as soon as it’s framed…
