Our home Harbaeks Courtyard (Harbæksgaard) has undergone exciting major renovations these past 6 months. Ever since we purchased it in 2008 in the the beautiful countryside of Skovby situated on the south Jutland island of Als in Denmark , we always dreamed we would one day be able to convert our barns into a large gallery space. This has been accomplished slowly over the past 10 years. Now we have 700 square meters of gallery. And an exciting addition is our little concert hall and cosy bar. This means we can now host various events.
We proudly open our doors to showcase our new gallery rooms tomorrow at 2pm-6pm. And again this coming weekend Saturday and Sunday 12pm-4pm. So come on by if you can.
Our first two opening concerts with my husband, Thomas Eje performing have already occurred, the 3rd one will be on the 4th of August. Contact us for tickets: 2142 0006
Exciting days ahead for us as we embark on this new adventure.
My husband Thomas really liked my latest classical portrait (now renamed ‘Girl with apples’. He decided that she should come out from under the stairs and be in front of the stairs instead! So now it looks like she has just glided down the stairs…
I am spending quite a bit of time in Odense this week as my husband is performing at the Hans Christian Andersen Festival. I suddenly remembered this portrait I painted a few years ago. (It was sold to an avid fan of this celebrated author.) Lovely to be spending so much time in this fun city! Great cafés and people!
We have moved our art gallery to the center of Sønderborg since coming back to Denmark after my exhibition in Bristol. We’re not done yet, but here’s a photo showing our dramatic black walls. More photos to follow!
I painted this in Las Vegas where I met my darling husband, Thomas. It was painted around St Patrick’s Day 2008. I guess I was inspired to herald in the spring and to embrace life and love with this painting!
